Self-Guided Hiking in Umbria
Personalize this tour to your travel dates and activity level
Our self-guided Umbria walking tour (a more challenging version of our easier self-guided hike in the same region) takes you through the region popularly known as Italy's "green heart". You start in the fascinating medieval town of Spoleto and end in Norcia, the birthplace of the 6th century Saint Benedict, the founder of European monasticism. Along the way, you walk through a wild and varied landscape of ancient villages perched on wooded hillsides and valleys flowing down from the high mountain pastures and peaks of the Sibillini mountains. You also have choices on many days between an easy walk and more difficult one. Whatever route you choose, we provide you with all the tools you need to help you put your spirit of adventure into action.
