Itinerary Outline

Day one: You arrive in San Severino and meet with your GIROSOLE rep who provides you with your walk materials, as well as an overview of the days ahead. You also take an orientation tour around the town of San Severino, which harbors a number of interesting secrets.
Day two: Featured today is a walk in the hills around San Severino, with great views over the surrounding countryside as far as the Adriatic Sea. (Walk distance: 10.5 miles/16.5 km - climb total: 2200 feet/680 m)
Day three: You set off for Camerino, famous for being the home of a major university that dates back to the 13th century, with wonderful views of this hilltop town during your walk. (Walk distance: 11.8 miles/18.9 km - climb total: 2730 feet/840 m)
Day four: A shorter walk today through the charming countryside around Camerino brings you to a hamlet where you pass the night. (Walk distance: 8.8 miles/14 km climb total: 1070 feet/330 m)
Day five: A particularly stunning hike takes you through alpine meadows and past rustic mountain villages until you arrive in Caldarola, a fortified town brooded over by a massive castle. (Walk distance: 8.5 miles/14.2 km - climb total: 2250 feet/690 m
Day six: From Caldarola you walk to Tolentino, home to the Basilica of San Nicola with its 13th C. frescoed baptistry. (Walk distance: 10.5 miles/17 km - climb total: 1330 feet/410 m)
Day seven: You depart from Tolentino this morning with a transfer to the train station.

Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful trip in Marche. The week hiking was the highlight of our 5 weeks in Europe. Extremely well organized and the attention to detail first rate. While it is tough to get a "bad" meal in Italy, your organization made superb choices for dinner. It was like each succeeding chef was trying to outdo the last!
